
Mike Sells has represented the 38th Legislative District (Everett, Marysville and Tulalip) for eight years in the Washington State House. As the Chair of the House Labor and Workforce Development, he has worked to bring more access to programs that will help people succeed in their jobs and businesses.
With a teaching background in both elementary and secondary education with the Everett School District from 1967 to 1998, Mike knows the importance of funding education. As President of the Everett Education Association from 1981 to 1998, he knows how important a good education is, and he has worked to get teachers the tools they need to deliver the kind of education that will help children succeed.

Mike led the way on bringing WSU to Everett with its engineering programs to help our community maintain its competitive edge in aerospace.
His budget amendment was passed to help fund the Washington Aerospace Training and Research Center at Paine Field in co-operation with Edmonds Community College and UW Bothell.
His bill, passed passed two sessions ago, funded a Bachelor of Science nursing program, that will provide opportunities for those wanting to go into health care, where staff are badly needed.
Mike stepped up when a taxation system was interpreted to unfairly double tax a local metal molding company in the Tulalip/Marysville area. 150 jobs were retained as a result.
