Mike Sells has represented the 38th Legislative District (Everett, Marysville and Tulalip) for six years in the Washington State House. As the Vice Chair of the House Higher Education Committee, he has worked to bring more access to programs that will help people succeed in their jobs and businesses.
With a teaching background in both elementary and secondary education with the Everett School District from 1967 to 1998, Mike knows the importance of funding education. As President of the Everett Education Association from 1981 to 1998, he knows how important a good education is, and he works to ensure teachers have the tools they need to deliver the kind of education that will help children succeed.

His budget amendment was passed to help fund the Washington Aerospace Training and Research Center at Paine Field in co-operation with Edmonds Community College and UW Bothell. Details
His bill, passed last session, funds a Bachelor of Science nursing program, that will provide opportunities for those wanting to go into health care, where staff are badly needed. Details
Mike stepped up when a taxation system was interpreted to unfairly double tax a local metal molding company in the Tulalip/Marysville area. 150 jobs were retained as a result. Details
